Nondiscrimination Policy
RUDRALEELA PRIVATE LIMITED — Operating ROMANCHA Version: 1.0 | Effective Date: April 25, 2026Our Commitment
Romancha is a platform for all of India. We are committed to building a community where every person is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of who they are.
Romancha will not tolerate discrimination in any form.Protected Characteristics
No host on Romancha may decline a guest, offer inferior service, or set different terms based on:
- Caste (including sub-caste or gotra)
- Religion or religious practice (including sampradaya, parampara, or sect)
- Sex, gender, or gender identity
- Sexual orientation
- Race, ethnicity, or national origin
- Disability or chronic illness
- Marital status
- Pregnancy or parental status
- Age (except where legally permissible, e.g., minimum age requirements)
No guest on Romancha may behave in a discriminatory or harassing manner toward a host based on any of these characteristics.
What Hosts Can Legitimately Restrict
Romancha recognises that some homes operate with specific cultural, religious, or lifestyle practices. Hosts may legitimately restrict or specify:
- Dietary rules: Vegetarian-only kitchen; no beef; no pork; no alcohol on premises
- Prayer schedule or spiritual practice: Silence during aarti times; mandatory participation in morning prayer is NOT permitted
- Gender separation: Single-gender accommodation (common in traditional dharamshalas)
- Guest type: Families only; women travelers only; pilgrims only
- Behavioural rules: No smoking; no music after 10PM; shoes off indoors
These restrictions must be clearly stated in the Listing before a guest books. Hidden differential treatment of a guest who does not match an unstated preference is discrimination and will result in account suspension.
Faith-Based Properties
Many Romancha hosts operate religious guest houses (dharamshalas, ashrams, mathas). These may legitimately:
- Require adherence to dietary norms while on premises
- Maintain gender-separated sleeping arrangements
- Have minimum dress codes
However, they may not:
- Refuse a guest of a different religion who agrees to observe the property's rules
- Charge different prices to guests of different faiths
- Treat guests with less dignity based on their caste or birth background
Access for Guests with Disabilities
Romancha hosts are encouraged to clearly state whether their property is accessible for guests with:
- Mobility challenges (wheelchair, walking aids)
- Visual impairments
- Hearing impairments
If a host's property is not accessible, they must state this clearly. Refusing a guest with a disability without disclosure is a violation of this policy.
