Host Damage Protection Terms
RUDRALEELA PRIVATE LIMITED — Operating ROMANCHA Version: 1.0 | Effective Date: April 25, 2026This document explains Romancha's current position on property damage. Please read it carefully — it is honest about what Romancha does and does not cover.
Romancha's Current Position
Romancha does not provide property damage insurance or a host guarantee fund. Today, damage claims are resolved directly between host and guest.
We are building dispute mediation tools and exploring partnerships for host protection insurance. This document will be updated when those mechanisms go live.
How Damage Claims Work Today
If a guest damages your property:
- Document immediately — take timestamped photos of all damage before the guest leaves, or within 2 hours of checkout.
- Try to resolve directly — communicate with the guest through the Romancha platform and attempt to agree on compensation.
- If unresolved — raise a report through Romancha: Hosting Dashboard → Completed Booking → Report Damage. Romancha will:
- Provide a structured mediation process
- Record the outcome in the guest's account history
- Romancha cannot force payment. We do not have access to the guest's payment method post-checkout. If the guest refuses to pay, the host must pursue civil remedies.
Security Deposits
The most effective protection available today is charging a refundable security deposit, disclosed in your Listing.
- Amount must be clearly stated
- Collected at or before check-in
- Returned within 24 hours of checkout if no damage claim is raised
- Romancha does not currently facilitate security deposit collection through the platform (coming soon)
What Romancha Recommends
- Property insurance: Most business property insurance policies can be extended to cover short-term rental damage. Consult your insurer.
- Public liability insurance: Specifically for situations where a guest is injured at your property.
- Guest ID verification: Romancha's identity verification system means every guest's identity is on file — simplifying any legal action.
Future Plans
We are actively working on: host protection claims process, partnership with insurance providers for tailored short-term rental policies, and an in-platform security deposit collection system. We will announce these as they become available.
