Major Disruptive Events Policy
RUDRALEELA PRIVATE LIMITED — Operating ROMANCHA Version: 1.0 | Effective Date: April 25, 2026This policy explains what happens to bookings when extraordinary, unforeseeable events prevent a stay from proceeding as planned. It applies to situations outside the control of both host and guest — sometimes called force majeure.
What Qualifies as a Major Disruptive Event
Romancha may activate this policy for:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Natural disasters | Floods, earthquakes, cyclones, landslides cutting off access |
| Health emergencies | Government-declared pandemic, epidemic, or quarantine orders |
| Government restrictions | Travel bans, Section 144 orders, curfew, state lockdowns |
| Civil unrest | Riots, large-scale violence making travel unsafe |
| Infrastructure failure | Major bridge collapse, airport closure, rail disruption affecting regional access |
| Severe weather | Cloud bursts in mountain regions, extreme heatwaves with government advisories |
Romancha will make the determination of whether an event qualifies. Not all unexpected situations are "major disruptive events." For example: a single property flood caused by a leaking pipe is a host negligence issue, not a force majeure event.
When This Policy Is Activated
Romancha will activate this policy when there is an official government advisory, news coverage of a widespread event, or Romancha's internal risk assessment confirms the event meets the threshold.
We will post updates at romancha.in/alerts and notify affected hosts and guests directly by push notification and email.
What Happens to Affected Bookings
When this policy is activated for a specific region and time window:
For guests:- Guests with upcoming bookings in the affected area may cancel without penalty.
- Refund amount: Full refund of amounts paid to Romancha.
- Romancha will provide a list of alternative verified properties in the same area if the guest wants to reschedule.
- Hosts in the affected area may cancel upcoming bookings without the standard cancellation penalties.
- These cancellations will not count towards the host's cancellation rate.
- No payout deductions or listing demotions for qualifying cancellations.
What This Policy Does NOT Cover
- Change of mind or personal scheduling conflicts
- A guest or host becoming ill (unless a government health emergency has been declared)
- Minor weather inconveniences without government advisory
- Local festivals causing traffic or noise (these are foreseeable and should be disclosed in the Listing)
- Travel disruptions outside the declared period or affected geography
